Title: Replacing the steering wheel airbag
Post by: Gozza on 04 April 2012, 20:55
Hi all,

If the drivers airbag had deployed, could I just buy another steering wheel airbag and replace or do I need any other bits ?

Thanks

The sensors and module must also be replaced, the control module records a permanent code when there is a deployment and it cannot be reset without a specialist afaik

Possibly issues with the seatbelts?  :undecided:

Ah ballbags, only reason I asked is I bought a damaged TDI where the airbag has gone off. Got a replacement on Ebay for £6.50 haha.

If I just replace the airbag without the other bits will it go off again or just report an airbag fault each time the ignition is on ?

Thanks
