Hi all recntyly got my m k 2 16 valver on saturday to say im chuffed with her is a understatemeant ( to think i only pad £220 ) she runs and purrs like a dream the only down side is when the car hits over four thouaand revs the oil light comes on with the warning sound does any body know what maybe causeing this please. The car has had full engine re vbuild both top and bottom end a friend of mine reckons it could be the sensors but m not 100 % sure if any body could she dsome light on the subject be very much apricated thanks in advance

Check in this order.
Oil level is correct, top up if not. When was oil filter changed? If there is no history of this replace it, this should have been done at the same time as the rebuild. If oil pressure light still comes on check oil pickup isn't clogged with crap (if an engine has been rebuilt then desintegrated bearings and metal block this in the same way it blocks oil filter and causes low oil pressure) Check that the correct oil is in the car. If it's too thin when warm the pump can struggle when revs increase, made worse because pump is probably old & worn. If none of this works replace the oil pump. As the engine has been rebuilt then on assembly an oil way may have been blocked with crap or old bits of gasket etc which is a hassle to rectify. Good luck!

Thanks peeps getting my mechanic up here towards end of the week to check it out and let me know over then that the car is sweet id up load some pics if i knew how to :rolleyes:

Drop the sump and check the pick up pipe.
