Hi
I just want to check if I need to get a different type of TIP hose to go with a KO3s turbo upgrade? I figure I might as well go for a Forge TIP if I'm going to be fitting this to my 1.8T.

I see the only visible difference is the extra connection on it as I got the one with the extra bit but blocke it off with a bolt..... Does this mean I got the k03s tip???
-
yes mate, DV and hockey puck locations are also swapped round

exactly that!! thats why i dont have the engine cover on there anymore as the dv sits much higher!!!!
is this a bad thing i got the wrong one on????
-
Nah it works just the same
-
Thought the k03 and k03s had different sizes where it goes onto the turbo?? :undecided:
-
nah they the same fella its the k04 thats a different size
-
K03s couple of mm bigger than an K03
That's why you need a silicone tip as it'll easily stretch the extra couple of mm over the inlet where a standard K03 metal tip won't

The turbo end of my TIP is bigger than that anyways lol

if i got the wrong tip on my turbo will i get a leak then? as lately i can here a vaccum cleaner noise like a turbo spool when the turbo kicks in, but you can also hear the spool up aswel
-
The only reason to have the TIP for you engine code is so the ports aren't reversed and you don't need to blank one off, makes no difference at the turbo end
