Normally you have to take trim off to get at it as it's on the brake pedal arm above the actual flat bit of the pedal where you put your foot on...e.g. on the cupra.....

Ive looked there, my pedal is not like that one it just stops at the bit where it attaches to the body at the pivot point, will have a better look in the morning,
'Cheerz anyhow

No worries - sorry I couldn't help more.
There was someone who once told me that on VW cars beyond 2008 the brake switch was moved to the master cylinder??? Not sure why they would do that as every car I've known has had it attached to the area on the pedal...
I'm sure someone more knowledgable will be along in a bit !

Here you go - given I'm burning time until some relatives go (!) - it does seem that it's attached ot the master cylinder???

Found it, its a right pain in the ass to get to if you have big hands, and no lift, as you have to get at it from the bottom up, remove the bottom cover and reach high up inside the engine bay,
So thats 1 problem sorted, its in at Listers Coventry for a ecu read and a forced dpf regeneration, Then its going to be removed and re mapped,
