So I took the motor to the mrs's sisters today to give the motor a proper wash...to be honest it's never really dirty as every day before I start out on any journey regardless of how far I'm going I also wipe the car over with a MF..
Anyway once I had jet washed and washed the car ect I noticed when It dryed I couldn't see any water marks, I thort this was very unusual as with my previous black car this was a big problem...I know black shows all the marks up but still I wud still expect to see at least some water marks on the candy!
So my question to the fellow candy whites out there have you noticed the same or was My washing technique awesome...
-
Lets see some photos....
Black is the new white.....
-
Didn't actually get some but will post some tomorrow...
I loved my black car and washed it every week so it wasn't really a bother...
-
I've never noticed any watermarks on my candy white only on the windows

Yep that's the only place I noticed them too...

Perhaps it's still got whatever protection the stealers put on it? I don't get water marks on my steel grey due to the fact that water sheets off the sealant/wax that it's coated in.
But why oh why do you wipe the car over everyday with a microfibre?? you'll be doing more damage to your paint than just washing it once a week.
I dunno, rubbing dirt into the paint daily, gobbing on bird poop?? Tut tut.

There will no doubt be dust, road grime and other contaminants lying on the paint (otherwise you wouldn't be wiping it over) and if your just wiping it over with no lubrication then you'll be inflicting tiny scratches, this is what causes swirl marks, ideally if your going to do that then you could do with some form of quick detailer.

Oh :embarassed:! Thank Jimble for that, much appreciated! I will stop that immediately
With regards to the spitting LOL I wonna stop that to and I know you carry some form of quick detailer with you so my question is what do you use or recommend, a link or something wud be great so I can buy it immediately...

Tbh i don't really use a quick detailer other than for lube when claying a couple of times a year, for bird poop and window duties i just keep some Auto Glym fast glass in the boot, it's quite cheap and is very versatile, can be used to clean interior plastics too, although there are probably some better products available it works for me.
As i've never used a QD for actual cleaning i can't really recommend one sorry although i've heard good things about Megs Ultimate, plenty to choose from on Waxamomo.

I'd recommend getting signed up on Detailing World but be warned, it can get expensive.

Yes its true if your using microfiber every day , you will end up with swirl marks and light scratches.
I know through experience because I did it to my black mk5 gti after a year the paintwork looked awful
