Post by: rsgolf on 30 March 2012, 17:10
i have a 2.0 8v gti apk engine on a w plate.i have changed the coil leads and plugs was running fine for over 30 mins at work and never missed a beat.on the way home it started to misfire now and again when i got home it was worse.i have had it on the reader at work and no faults stored.any advise is much appreciated as i dont want to throw any more money at it without curing the fault.thanks guys

Are the plugs the correct ones for your engine? Are all the leads fully pushed home?

yes to both doubled checked them.been reading different posts saying that it could be a lambda sensor or a maf.now unsure what to do.

Could be the MAF and it wont always show a code - try unplugging it and see if it runs better. Could  also be the coil unit that the 2.0 8v engines have.

i disconnected the maf and didn't seem to make a difference.i replaced the coil, plugs and leads and was fine till it warmed up and misfire came back.
