Title: Fog lights

Fitting some fogs to my mk3 I do not have the whirring there so was wondering could I put my own switch in or will thay have to be off the pull switch for the lights??

And if I put them on a switch are thay still classed as fogs???

Use the proper headlamp switch with the double pull postion, keeps it legal etc.

Well if you really want to however quicker and easier to buy the correct loom, it is plug and play.

Ideally you'll need the correct dash mounted switch with a double click out knob and second fog warning illumination BUT you can utilise the standard one by pulling the rear fog light switch half way. Not the best way to go about it though.

I do'nt know if this is any help but i unwittingly fitted a gl switch to a gti.The gl one is only one pull out as the car it came off only had rear fogs.However,on a gti a gl switch lights both lots of lights up on just one pull.It was on an R reg if it makes any difference.

changed switch and the loom on my tdi wasnt a bad job at all :)
