Seen a few threads like this but they weren't leading to my answer.
What i want to know is, I have a Gt Tdi and im going to be putting some fk coilovers on it, im running 18" r32 alloys, ET 35, 8J with 225 40 tyres on. Im only wanting to go 40mm so will i need spacers for my wheels? If so, what size?
Any advise welcome!
Cheers, Hoggy.

Try it bud you most likely will need them but to save buying them first drop it to were you want it worst case wind it back up until you get some

I got same rims/tyres on my mk4 got 15mm spacers on rear. Fronts are ok but poss get 5mm on front.
-
Cheers for the quick replies guys, will do exactly that Ad! Is 15mm not a bit drastic to go at the rear?
Cheers, Hoggy.

Tyre top fits under arch rest of wheels doesn't is limit at 15mm mate. If going low 5-10mm i'd say.
-
Ahh right, if needs be ill go 5mm front and 10mm on the rear. :)
Cheers, Hoggy.

i got 15mm on rear and 5mm up front is a good set up as said and looks pretty good
-
Do you have much trouble with wheel bearings going on the rear with such a wider set up?
Cheers, Hoggy.
-
No that's not wide to some people have it.

i aint had any probs yet mate

You lot are all wimps, I'm running R32 wheels with 20mm rear spacers and 15mm fronts!
Before I fitted the spacers I found that once I was around the 40mm mark the inner tyre scrubbed on the coilovers so required a 5mm spacer on the front.
