Title: Buying Advice
Post by: royston_vasey on 29 March 2012, 11:22
Hey I own mk3 golf 1.4 and I'm coming into some money next month, I've always fancied getting a Bora 1.9tdi PD. I need some advice on whether buying a diesel is a good decision at the moment the alternative is the 1.6 petrol as the fuel economy isn't to bad and 105bhp is al-right for small engine. I would prefer the highline diesel, but with diesel prices at the moment, not sure what future holds

Regards

Joel

The TDI PD is a lot better bet than the 1.6

1.9tdi no question about it. More economical, more powerful and more tuneable. Only negative is it's more expensive to buy and insure.

I like boras. If I needed a big car would seriously considered one.

Appreciate the advice, the diesel seems the good choice, as you said more expensive I need post-June 2002 model as it comes with esp as standard. I know there is a 115bhp tdi PD and 130bhp tdi PD is the difference purely a remap?

Maybe just my opinion but they look a bit pipe and slippers
Very good car, Highline is well kitted out wont take that away from it but they look like a Mk4 golf with a boot and a nose job, plus my Dad likes them and he is nearly 70
