Hello,
I took the passenger side lock blank out today, because the outside door handle wouldn't open the car so i put the lock wire thing back in and it works now. Now the round metal piece that holds the lock in place has fell down the door. Is this a door card and plate removal job?
My instantaneous mpg display goes wild, it shows mpg that i know isn't possible in the golf, like 110mpg? i wish lol why does it do this?
Also, my boot lock won't open. It's stuck in the verticle position, which i believe to be the position that the remote central locking would open it. The boot handle won't open the boot, the lock won't turn with the key in. How would i get into the boot, i've heard i'll have to take the boot card off from inside but i don't want to damage anything. Any ideas on getting the card off from inside the boot would be appreciated.
My car is a 1.8t AUM 51 plate golf gti
Thank you

1 Yes door card off.
2 It may be on actual MPG press the button on the end of the stalk to scroll through to avarage mpg (circle with a line symbol)
3 Try somthing like WD40 in the lock barrel it should free up and unlock, Give it time to soak in.

1. Whip the door card off - simple job.
2. You've answered your own question, it's instant mpg, not average.
3. WD40

Damn you Rich, I was too slow

I'll have a look thank you :)

I've sprayed wd40 in the lock but it just won't turn. When i press the unlock button when the car is locked, i can see the boot lock barrel trying to turn. Any ideas?
Thank you

Dose your rear washer work?
-
No, it doesn't work

The pipe has come off then and soaked your lock. I think you will have to get into the boot and try to get the pannel of to get at it.

I thought that's what would of happened, is there a method of taking the trim off from inside the boot? was thinking of getting a large long screwdriver down the top near the window and pushing it down then pushing the screwdriver down, to prise it off. I don't know the best way to get it off

Trouble with that is you have a screw in each of the grab handles holding the boot trim in place so you could well end up breaking it

+1. Take the screws out and try to pull it off.

I'd remove the screws before prising it off :)

Cool; wasn't sure if you were aware that the screws were there
