Title: mk4 track rods
Post by: bobbarley on 26 March 2012, 23:48
Ok, so on my MOT the nearside inner track rod was identified as having slight play.  I'm looking to get it sorted, however want to check that the following assumptions are correct.

1.  I need to replace the offside and near side together ideally
2.  I'd be as well off replacing the track rod ends as well (the current ones are 12 years old)

Then a wheel alignment afterwards.

Cheers Rich, still on the pricey side.  Need to save my pennies as I'm moving apartment next month to somewhere with rent twice as expensive  :undecided:

Gonna order this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200732320602?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_2280wt_1165

Yeah mate.  Most of the difference is rent is being made up by the fact I finished paying for the Golf last month.  She's 100% mine now.

Rods and ends currently working their way through the post to me.

Excellent.  Local garage, £60 to fit and that includes tracking!
