OK, So the 2012 season is just 2 weeks away, really looking forward to it.
First impresions are that i can see Casey Stoner running the show again. From recent testing it looks like only Pedrosa and Lorenzo will be able to keep up the pac
Gutted that Rossi hasnt been able to sort out his Ducati, was really hoping he would find his feet this year and complete for a top 3 finish.
Obviously want Crutchlow to have a good season, Be nice to see him on a few podiums.
One to watch for me would be Stefan Bradl, Moto GP rookie, Him and Marc Marquez destroyed the Moto2 field last season, Obviously its a big step up but i can see him emulating the likes of Marco Simoncielli (rip) with his transition to Moto GP.
Keep an eye out for UK hopeful Bradley Smith in Moto2 aswell this season.
Will try and post my race predictions on this thread once ive seen Warmups and Qualifying.
-
Always been a big F1 fan and never really watched Moto GP, but think I will give it a go this season. As the clips I did watch last season I enjoyed
Is it on BBC?

All races are live on BBC, Qualifying can be watched on Red Button along with Moto2 and Moto3 races
I'd always watch the odd race but only in the last few seasons since being with my misus who's whole family are massive fans have i never missed a race. Going to Silverstone for my first live experience this year.

Absolutely love MotoGP and lesser classes, I worked for SharkUK who distribute helmets, leather ect ect to the motorcycling trade, have a mate who goes to pretty much ever race to help the riders....
I'm also gutted to here Rossi hasn't been able to sort his issues out with his Ducati!!
And yes very much RIP Simoncielli! Such massive loss to the sport...

Never really took interest in the Moto GP but might take a peek this season.

I think there will be a lot more excitment on the grip this year, with the introduction of CRT teams meaning there will be around 23 riders now as opposed to around 16/18

More the merrier Lol.. Dont get me wrong Ive watched a few laps here and there and get a little adrenaline rush when thing's get close lol But definitely going stick my nose into the championship this year.

With rossi i think its a case of 'if it aint broke.....' but then i dont know the actual reason hes gone to ducati? Have been neglecting the motogp but then again i can never be arsed staying in on weekends
Its about his time to give up now, hes had his run just like the schumacher days
But i have sky+ power now
And another one hoping clutchlow has a good season!
-
Friend of mine works for Dorna, he's the one that chooses the replays we see on TV. He's got me paddock passes for Silverstone for the weekend, so I'll be watching it from there. I'd like to see Rossi get back to the top.
-
Thing is with Rossi and that bike is the chassis.
When stoner won the championship on it, it was a mild steel tube chassis. Then they made the carbonfibre tub that was dog poo that gave no feel! Now rossi thinks he can sort with a alloy jap chassis.
Bring back the steel tube I say!
First time I watched they raced 500cc twostrokes. Rossi's first year in the moto gp class. Can't remember where he finished that year.
He pissed it on Honda then on Yamaha and now his got a challenge.
Honda is the bike to have this year plain and simple but Im tempted to bet on george!
-
RG500's they where the days!
Ive had 2 rgv250's and my god they are animals

I think Rossi really wants to do it on Ducati, so from what i understand he's gonna be going for another 3 seasons i think. We can only hope.
-
He will be the only gp rider ever to win the motogp championship on 3 different manufactures.
-
Very much looking forward to seeing the season begin
My moneys on Stoner :smug:
-
pre season is looking awsome i have also owned a rgv 250 was pretty rapid for a 250 but does not compair to the 500 i rode one at croft about 6 years ago thought i was going to kill myself so much power would love to do it again though.
rossi and stoner on the honda thats what i would like to see could be intresting

But rossi has been on Honda and destroyed everyone.
There must come a point when winning gets boring so you decide to make a winning bike instead?

It's what Schumacher did with Ferrari. He went there when they were nothing and won 5 consecutive titles with them. The same as Alonso and Renault.
Ducati already did have a winning bike though, Stoner was the only one who could win on it though. Rossi had been with Yamaha since 2004 and won 4 championships with them. It was time for a change, especially as Lorenzo had come in and won in 2010. Ducati and Rossi are the "dream" pair, it's just a shame it's a bit like Ferrari and Alonso, neither of the teams can give the pilots good enough machinery.
-
stoner won it on a different chassis, Rossi has never rode the bike with the same chassis. Even caparossi used to win on that ducati.
stoner wasn't the only one who could ride the bike. It totally changed after he won the championship.
-
Surprise surprise Stoner is on top after FP1. Good to see a ducati in Top 3. Pity its not Rossi, but i do like Hayden.

nice to see cal in 6th to hoping he has a good season
-
Fantastic FP3 by Cal. Lets see what Qualifying brings.
-
What channel are they showing it on?? Can't find it on TV guide UK. Quali is at 17:55 UK time but I can't find anything on the tv guide.
-
Just found it on British eurosport. Thought BBC were doing it again this year?

BBC will be showing the race tomorrow, thought qualy would be on red button but couldnt find it so watching it on eurosport. It was only announced on friday that eurosport would be showing the whole she-bang. Toby Moody and Julian Ryder are so boring.

Scratch that, BBC are not showing the race, just on red button.

1. Stoner
2. Lorenzo
3. Crutchlow
4. Pedrosa
5. Dovi
-
Am starting to wonder if Rossi is playing slow again as Hayden seams much quicker

Well not in the right order but the right riders. Pedrosa did superb to make up the places.
Im a bit late because i have only just watched the race, had a family thing last night.
Great start to the season, Quatar isnt normaly the most exciting of races.
I does look like it will be a 3 horse race early on. Glad Stoner didnt win. (anyonebutstoner)
Great result for Cal, and also a great debut race for Bradl even though he dropped off the pace towards the end which you cant blame him for that. Certainly one to watch.
-
ye cal done superb ,was a good race to watch esp him and his teammate toe to toe,was on bbc 1 last night after motd khare
-
fantastic QP from Cal at the moment, if the rain continues then its Poll in the bag. Hard to predict a winner though, because as you can see the weather is very unpredictable.
If it rains and Rossi can get a place in the 2nd row then he's got a good chance as we all know rossi is a super rider in rain.
-
spoke too soon
-
Another good race, Enjoyed the 2 battles for 1st and 3rd with Stoner/Lorenzo and Pedrosa/Crutchlow.
Its only a matter of time before crutchlow gets on a podium. For him to be keeping up with the Hondas is incredible. Gonna be a good season for him. And also bradl had another good race.
-
Ye, really enjoyed the race!
-
The doctor is back. What a race. Shame for Cal. But ecstatic to see Rossi back on the podium. Just need more wet races.
-
was good to see rossi doing well will be interesting to see who gets stoners bike at the end of the season to????????????
-
What a superb job from Cal today!!

what a race from cal, absolutely crazy. If he doesnt get offered a factory ride next season i dont know.
-
Just watched it on i player! What a race!
-
So Spies has said he will not be with Yamaha next season.
Who will get his ride? Would like to see Rossi back on a Yamaha, but its likely maybe Dovi or Cal will be offered it.
Makes for interesting times
-
With all the talk of Cal going to Ducati and Dovi is throwing his toys out the pram for a factory ride so i think he'll get the Yamaha seat.
-
Yeah Dovi for Yamaha, as Jimble said, he's threatening to leave if next year he doesn't have a factory bike.
