just had a quick read of that earlier... will be interesting to see what they come up with after a longer time with both.
I find it a little strage though as the GTD is virtually the same as the GT TDi 170 sport was.... but no one really made much of a fuss about that being a competitor to the GTI. Now suddenly change the letters a little and its a direct rival :lipsrsealed:

Know what you meen r32uk Amazing what marketing can do
They are obvious not engineers at PH.
-
I was think the same.
-
Of course the GTD was faster.....

I sometimes found that mk5 170gt drivers were always trying to race me or prove somthing, even had one fool try in the wet when i had my R32, i just flicked him out the way like he was fly bothering me. GTD drivers seem more grown up tho, or they know their place

funny that.. just been to the petrol station where some guy in his white VXR was driving like a nutter pulling in. As we both left we were at the front of the lights together. I kind of expected him to put his foot down.... but he didnt
must have been scared off by the little badge on the back  some try, some dont... :undecided:

The GTD is not hard core, but must be one of the best all round cars on the road at the moment and therefore we've got nothing to prove. It is fast enough and is a great 'Grand Tourer' with all that torque and refinement you just cruise along at your own pace enjoying the drive. It's aways got more power and grip on offer and that makes me smile. There is always some nutter driving dangerously. Better to do that on a track day where you less likely to cause collateral damage IMHO....

More accurately should be titled: "The dullest car in the real world!"

tbf I wouldnt let something like snow dictate the type of car I drive... we had 2 days of snow this year. Maybe 10 last year. The BMW is far superior to the golf from my experience :lipsrsealed:
