Title: is it possible to trace where your car came from originaly?
Post by: acko on 29 May 2005, 17:40
I need to get some plate holders for me motor as my new german plates arrived the other day. The ones that came with them looked rubbish and pretty shody quality. The plates themselves are spot on however (www.germanplates.com = big thumbs up!) I was thinking of either getting the german dealership style plates to try and tie in with the pro german theme or get plate holders from where my car was originaly bought from in the uk. Does anybody know how to track this information down. Would the dvla be able to tell me? I thought the V5 might say but it doesn't.

Or in support of the forum I could go for the golfgti.co.uk plate surrounds?

ideas?

Do you have the manual that came with your car?? Should be a dealer sticker inside telling you about the day it was purchased - i.e. the inspection carried out, first registered owner etc etc.....

Spose you could try contacting VW HQ and asking them or maybe your local dealer can trace it.

Go to your dealer and tell them ur reg No., they can print out the history of your motor...
