long story short, turbo blown on car, have decided to buy the turbo dynamics hybrid turbo, but need someone to map it for me, its not advisable at all to drive the car with a hybrid turbo and standard map, so it will be stuck at the garage with a new turbo but not driveable
have just been on the phone to r-tech and they will only map standard cars on their mobile service, not hybrids as they need a rolling road to set up properly
does anyone know of any mappers with rolling roads around here that could map a tdi hybrid?
or if such as thing as a generic hybrid map exists that could be loaded on my car so that i could drive to a mapping company?
any other ideas that anyone has got would be great, because if i cant get round this i will have to buy a normal turbo

you can drive it fine mate, just d/c the maf.
I drove 200miles to nick going from a k03 to a k04-001 just keep of the boost.
was fine :)

ive got a diesel, 150 ARL, not a petrol, are diesels more sensitive to this kind of thing?
only saying that because when i was on the phone to r-tech the guy said it is really not advisable to drive on it at all, i even tried to blag like a temporary map to make things run safer so i can get to the mappers, but he wasnt having none of it lol.

fit a boost gauge so you can see if its spiking boost and unplug the map sensor to force the car into limp mode maybe? not really advisable and noone can tell you that it's going to be 100% safe :undecided:

a trailer

cheers for all the replies!
a trailer would be good if i had something to pull it with
the nearest place i can get it mapped is 40 miles from me, mostly motorway
yea i was thinking about putting the car into limp mode, is it still driveable in limp mode? im not too sure what it does
i thought a map and a maf sensor were two different sensors, do i have to disconnect both of them to put it into limp mode or just one of them?
-
in all seriousness try shiply.com to get your car shipped if you are that worried about driving it
works out cheaper than renting a trailer and fuel
-
nice one chuff, i have signed up to that and posted me ad
thanks

its a long haul but cant u just stay off the boost and a road it 40 miles ??? disconnect maf u should be okay just stick to 35-40 in 4-5 gear
