Hi guys just put my sub in my mk3, I've had this is my 2 previous cars no problem. For some reason I'm now getting no power to the amp.
Checked the fuse on the power cable and the amp, there both fine, power cable I've tried connecting to all the positive terminals And nothing. Any ideas :s?
If it was the earth or rem installed wrong there would be a different colour light, but I have no light so it has to be the power cable Causing the issue.

Is it conencted to a clean earth? The remote should go to the remote lead on the headunit.
"I've tried connecting to all the positive terminals"? The amp power should come direct from the battery.
-
Not sure on the earth, but if the earth was bad I get a red light come on, got nothing ATM.
There are no free terminal things on the battery so I just put it on where other stuff connected, did the same on my last car and it worked. How can I get a clean contact to the battery?
-
Where is the earth connected at the moment?
-
One of the rear seatbelt mounts, dOnt know if that's any good but it doesn't matter, like I said I'll just get a red light come on
How is your power cable connected to your battery ?

Mine had a poor Earth and got no power whatsoever. Took me a while to figure it out but once sorted all works ok now.

what you guys earthed off of ??
-
I use the earthing point of the rear light clusters/central locking pump
-
Rear seat belt bolt under the parcel shelf support. It did take me a couple of attempts to get a good enough earth though.

mine too, however i sanded mine right down to bare metal, then a little further so my earthing is good

have u tested the amp since u took it out ur other car ?? as it might be ur amp puffed if you hace a old extension lead or hoover just open ur boot and bonnet connect the live to your amps live and do a temp fixing to your battery then turn on ur ar / stereo and see if that fixes it . 1 of 2 things will happen ur amp will work andthen u know thats how youll have to connect it in ur car or your amp wont work and ull have to buy a new one
