Title: big front mounts ??? intrested apologies
Post by: nolandubholmes on 22 March 2012, 19:58
as some of u are aware i broke rules of the forum kind of advertising big front mounts basically what im going to do im going to fit one to mine and assemble a kit to sell the person im partnering up with has been selling intercoolers for years and deals massivley in the american and chinese market rest assured any kit i do end up selling through this site or forum will be of excellent quality with a no quabble warranty only once ive emailed an administrator for details on how to do so so lads watch this space im creating a kit as big as the forge item that will be a hell of a lot cheaper but when i do so it will be done through the proper procedures

Title: front mount cooler what u think
Post by: nolandubholmes on 22 March 2012, 21:40
my first experiment of putting some kits together for stealth front mounts instead of the ebay sh!t that pokes out your side grills this is the medium sized version currently working on a forge sized item as we speak this isnt a testement to the quality of a kit i will eventually advertise its simpley experimental at the mo just to see what fits and what dosent

It looks ok. Would be much better with less joins to reduce the chance of having boost leaks.
Also the supporting brackets I would support the intercooler to the slam panel, but thats me.
Any pics with bumper fitted?

everything as got room for improvement in mock up stage so pointers are crucial as jamie says fitted to slam panel to get it more to the front of the bumper  with less joins to avoid boost leaks and it could be a really good kit

cheers guys il note it all down its literally the proto stage think were going to pretty much scrap that cooler and go for a much larger version

not mocking t in any way i have a big respect for ppl trying new things but pointers along the way always help even if they are not needed

you're going to need to either really minimise all that butchery of the crash bar, or supply ready-modified ones with the kits. i see no throttle cable on that motor so have you made provisions for the map sensor?
Title: Re: big front mounts ??? intrested apologies
Post by: nolandubholmes on 22 March 2012, 23:05
i dont think your mocking it pal ???? i always accept pointers as eventually i do want to sell as many as poss to fellow 1.8t dubbers ive already done an exact copy of the s3 forge kit were roughly going to base the idea off that

I would highly recommend not using the Forge name so loosely as forge do not like copied items and you will be found and may end up in trouble. I can understand you want to produce your own kits for a good price but replicating is not the answer!
Title: Re: big front mounts ??? intrested apologies
Post by: nolandubholmes on 22 March 2012, 23:17
yeah its got a map sensor pipe boss with it yeah about the forge stuff non of the kits i do are copied off forges direct as id have to buy all there kits i simply try and do things similar as there obvioulsy the pros at this no copyright issues are breached ever we made sure of that dont want the plod on my back i will however lay off the name dropping  :lipsrsealed:

Post by: cullygti on 22 March 2012, 23:30
i dont see a problem with using the name i got a recirc valve exactly the same as the forge one but its not a forge one as long as your saying they aint exactly the same like i just did you will be ok ffs what is going on with this forum lately the guy is trying to help out ok given he didnt go about it in the right way from the off but he as stood up an appolagised an is willing to do and go around the right way  etc if he can make summat to help us poor feckers out then so be it... i say ppl use the names of ths forge etc all the time we all know they aint going to be as good as the forge items or the ths but hey ho if it works and gets the figures that ppl want and of course its cheap as then wtf mate for sticking up for you i want a %75 share of all your profits and its not negotiable

No reason it shouldnt be any less efficient if its designed well..

I want horizontal fins though

Sorry it's not the fact of using the Forge name as such i know people use it to get credibility to there products and of course forge is the best and most respected and respectifully price there items accordingly. I don't knock the fact that this guy is trying to make a product which could/will make a good impact on the market its the statements like >

i dont think your mocking it pal ???? i always accept pointers as eventually i do want to sell as many as poss to fellow 1.8t dubbers ive already done an exact copy of the s3 forge kit were roughly going to base the idea off that

Which can upset some people. Now i know some people at forge very well and they often say people try to replicate there stuff without permission etc afterall Forge was built up from a guy who once wanted to give people products at a good rate and has dedicated his life in doing so. They now spend thousands developing products for the 1.8t engines in every vag group going. Yes perhaps they could sell there products cheaper but they do offer a customer service second to none i say good luck to this bloke.

everyone starts somewhere the word replica would be more appropriate i think

Fair do's but they asking top whack for an intercooler that is not considered the best, £600 forge, £400 for THS which is considered better due to how air flows top to bottom..

If you know guys at Forge, where's our mates rates discounts

Pretty sure this guy isn't the first to 'replicate' their products... How many replica wheels get mate?

thats exactly what i was thinking mr bbs would go out of his f**king mind

£600 forge, £400 for THS which is considered better

i've done extensive testing on both, and in terms of thermal efficiency found there to be negligible difference between the two.

Innovit, Rota, 1000 of replica BBS.. All copys..

I'm sure wheel companys have a different approach to copying as you cant have a patant on a useable which can be made in variable amounts such like the first wheel ever made would not have a patant against it otherwise we will still be rolling around on wooden wheels. BBS replicas etc could even be made by a sister company or even have written consent to be made however theres always differences in some form or another.

I understand this bloke is not making exact copys and branding forge on them this is true. All i was getting at is by making EXACT copys can be seen as stealing a idea which in simple terms is. He has now said there not so i have no reason not to believe him once again i wish the people involved success

i understand where your coming from and agree but its a big wide world where as grown ups we know ppl do copies of almost everything take the chinese for example they make reps of a dominos pizza  its just the pepparoni tastes like a german shepherd meat is meat

Fair play, I haven't done testing on either, was just going by what I thought was the general consensus, always good to hear valid results

I know about chinese copying there the masters at it if it was a city in england they would all be in alot of trouble  oh well life goes on theres more things to worry about than copying everyone elses stuff
