Title: urgent gear stick help

hi all,

bought a brand new bora sport gear knob which said it would fit a golf mk4.
took off my old one.

the hole under the gear knob of my mk4 golf one is this big.

the bora one is much smaller.

how do i get it to fit on to this???? urghhh

1.6 and under have different size bores on the gear knobs  :sad:

damn! any way i can change it? like taking off the black bit? gutted spent 45 notes on it and ruined my old one.

haha i dont know how to take it off, there is a star shape screw on the top?

sounds silly but cant you take the internals out the original and pop it in the bora one?

ps. my dads took all my stuff from the garage and put it in his shed, 4 miles away. will let you know when i have pictures!

i had a go of taking the internals out of the gear knob but i dont want to snap the new one!
if i cant get the bora one on ill send it back!
