Title: Good Samaritans - They are out there
Post by: haf1zur on 20 March 2012, 21:21
Went to Slough, had to deliver some Cisco stuff to a data center

On the way back jack packed with traffic as everyone was heading home

Started hearing a thudding noise at low speed, as i got closer to the M4 it started getting worse, so decided to pull into a side road, pulled out the widow-maker and started lifting the car, it collapsed twice, cutting 3 of my fingers.

A guy saw me doing this and asked if i needed any help, so explained my situation and next thing you know he brings me his trolley jack. Which i used to lift the front and check the front of the car for anything that could be causing the issue as i thought it was the calipers maybe, but no luck

Then this other guy came along and asked what was wrong, he turned out to be an mechanic, had a short chat between the 3 of us. Told me to look at the arb bushes. By which time the roads were clear so decided to make a go for home

Thanked both of them for the help and made my way

Dont know what I would of done without their help

I remember stopping to help a bird out who had a puncture.. She said she had phoned someone but I saw she had attempred to change the wheel and undid the wheel bolts before jacking it up. She told me to leave it but when I saw the tyre was showing wires I was like

"If I leave it and the police come and see it you will probably get points"..

10 mins later shes off on her merry way.. Shame I had bloody wire from the tyre stuck in my hand..

But it goes the other way too.. Changed one for this old cvnt and she moaned that she couldn't get the wheel repaired cos it was sunday after I advised her to stick under 50 on the space saver.

Good to hear of people putting others before themselves.

The problem is nowadays people are scared to stop & help as they just dont know what could happen ! I would always stop & help if i could but i am 6ft 4 an 16 stone so not such an issue, you can understand why some people think twice about it.

On Sunday I saw this lad wandering in a busy road with a bottle of cider p1ssed out of his face and I mean p1ssed. I saw people laughing at him, so I pulled over asked if he was ok, he asked if I could take him to so and so (I forget where) and I said yes as long as you don't puke. Anyway, I took him back to his sisters house and he got home ok and it was a fair old hike for someone not p1ssed so I'm not sure he would have actually made it home in one piece. I felt I did my bit and I'm 40+

On the other hand, I asked my Mrs what she would do if she broke down in the car and a bloke came to help here and she said it would actually scare her and she wouldn't feel safe.

haha, another one that read it as you cutting your fingers off!

I actually broke down on a roundabout a couple of days ago. A couple of blokes in suits pulled over, jumped out and pushed me to safety! Top fellas.

I was travelling on the underground one time, I was at one end of the carriage and at the other end I saw a circle of people suddenly appear around some one lying on the floor. No one was doing anything...just looking. The person next to me ran over shouting she was a medic etc. It turned out that the lady had fainted and no one even batted an eye lid, no one tried to stop her falling or then try to help her. Was awful to see people acting like that.

5:30 road full of traffic, vento stopped on the wait line on one of the busiest islands in nottingham,
absolutly busting for a slash, didnt stop me pulling up in a bus lane and pushing the poor f**k*r all on me own and the cheeky lady garden of a bus driver stopped and had a go at me
