Title: mk2 8v digi to abf transplant list
Post by: mk2addict on 19 March 2012, 23:38
I've done a abf swap from an g reg 8v gti, thought a list off everything I've used would be handy. Mk3 golf gti abf engine
02a gearbox from mk3
Mk3 cable shift
Corrado pedal box and corrado clutch master cylinder, I have heard the mk3 master cylinder fits but in my case it didn't.
Mk3 clutch slave cylinder
Original 8v driveshaft (100mm)
A mk3 brake fluid reservoir which has a outlet for the hydrolic clutch fits onto a mk2 brake master cylinder.
Abf exaust manifold and a decat pipe bought off ebay and cut to fit, joind with 2inch joiner.
Abf loom and ecu and all ancillaries.
Cut lighting loom out leave the same plugs on the fusebox side as u have on the end of ure digi loom. Also leave grey and white wire with brown plug this is the immobliser wire. and yellow wire with seperate plug this is for the diagnostic plug.
Used mk2 rad and fan with mixed and matched cut to fit abf and mk2 hoses.
Ran wire from abf coil pack to pin 10 on plug g1 which is tge 10 pin white plug on fusebox this will be so ure original revcounter will work, you'll have to open small cover above the coil pack plug where ull find two pins, join the wire to the right hand pin if the coil plug is facing u.
A chip to deimmoblise the ecu which I can get hold off. Which needs ignition live, earth and k line (the grey and white wire)
Diagnostic plug off a mk3.
Take note of any wires joined into ure 8v digi plugs ure pullin out probably black ones these will be for aftermarket immoblisers and will need to be joined into the abf loom same as the digi loom.
Umm that's all I can think of at the moment ill be double checking the the rev counter wiring but fairly certain it was plug g1 plug 10.
