Title: Gearbox Help

Hey all newbie here.
i have just got a 8v gti 1998 and its got the knocking gearbox when in reverse  :smiley:

what other golf boxes will fit it as i have been told mk2 box will fit but would like to deffo fine out before i got out and buy a box,

my and engine and tran codes are agg dfg.

Yes a mk2 GTI gearbox will fit.

DFQ or CHE or even mk2 1.8 GTI will fit

Just replaced mine, I checked the gearbox number stamped on the housing and then bought one with the same code but all you really have to do with what ever box you get is to make sure the clutch disc fits the input shaft.
