Do I need to change my engine soze on my v5 to make my insurance lagit or can I just tell my insurance?
-
you need to declare to
insurance company
and
DVLA as a change of engine.
as seen
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/ChangesToYourRegistrationCertificate/DG_4022054
and its NOT a simple task :lipsrsealed:

To confirm im in the process of doing an engine change and i have been asked for
* a receipt for the replacement engine
* written evidence from the manufacturer
* an inspection report provided for insurance purposes
* written confirmation on headed paper from a garage if the change in engine size took place before you bought the vehicle

one of my v5's currently has the engine number down as #3 lol
same car is also apparently 19998 cc as well
also the passat is still apparently TDi even tho the fuel is down as petrol and it is petrol wtf
at work there is a rallye that was apparently new at first registration in 2008

Lol so the dvla don't seem to have a clue then in ure cars case. I'm gunna get a letter headed paper from a garage dwn the road and say that the engine was put in before I bought seems like less hassle that way, also it has been resprayed silver when its meant to be blue so got to change that too else I'm asking to be pulled over
