Hi. Is there anyway of telling the difference between a CE1 and a CE2 fusebox as I believe this may be my electrical gremlin? And is there actually anyway to get the CE2 fusebox to work with an engine loom and engine from a CE1? The 2 cars are an F reg and a G reg both registered in 89 so not sure how I can tell the difference. Thanks

CE2 cars have the hazard switch on the steering column.
Other way is on the back of the fusebox is a CE1 Has round Pins and a CE2 has square spade ones...
The fuseboxes are not interchangable you would have to splice one io the other and it's not worth the hassle...

Thanks for this so it wouldn't be possible to obtain a CE2 engine loom and use this to marry the engine from the CE1 and fusebox from CE2?

Ce2 loom will plug straight into ce2 fuseboard and will work your engine. Ce1 loom goes straight into ce1 fuseboard. What he means is ce1 loom won't plug into ce2 board, and vice versa, though if you have plugs for either board you can cut and splice

Ah thanks for that think it would just be easier to use the donor car wiring
