i assume this'll be alright but thought i'd better check
... is the PAS set up from a '91 16v OK to put into my '90 8v????
thanks.
-
theres only one system as far as i know, so yeah
-
there is differences in the systems. but yes a 16v system will fit an 8v
there is 3 PAS racks
non-Gti - lightest to turn
8v gti
16v gti - heaviest to turn
the difference
-
OK, so which is my best bet???
- and thank you by the way
-
16v has the best feel/feedback
-
I have read that the 16v PAS rack is slightly 'quicker' than the 8v PAS rack, which would be why it feels heavier as Gambit said :)
-
blimey, that was quick!!
- you people really do live here!!
thank you.

Hi mate ive just finished converting my E plate 8 valve to power steering i used a driver on a j plate.Things to watch out for you need all of the drive pullies including crank and water pump, lower steering columb section (2 uj.s with bar) .I would stick to an 8 valve because of this good luck it worth it .

8v with 195/50/15 is bang on, plenty of feedback and easy to turn in if car driven well
