Title: diaphragm pressure switch

hey guys can any1 give me any info on a diaphragm pressure switch. id like to no what it does and if there is anyway of the car working without it? this my be the reason why my k jet lump isnot working.any info would be great

I bought the black HP oil pressure switch from VW this week. About £12.50.
