OK, about a week ago whilst I'd been driving for around an hour up the m40 my car lost boost, it came back a couple times but then went again and now its gone all the time. I can hear the turbo spooling a tiny bit but cant feel anything :(
code reader says boost pressure limit exceeded and if I clear the code it comes straight back again. I've checked all hoses and no blockages or anything like that. anyone have any ideas what it could be?
engines an AUM its a mk3 conversion with all the usual n249 n112 sai deletes and a catch can installed, also running a spots cat if that makes any difference

Faulty N75 :undecided:

Boost randomly came back on the way to work this evening, not sure what's going on but if it stays for now I'll leave it alone, if it goes again though I'll look into the n75 cheers :)

check the wires going into the n75 sometimes they can come loose!!!
-
check the map sensor wiring. if that code is coming back straight away without driving the car the map sensor could be telling the ecu porkies
-
when I say straight away I mean if I drive it the turbo will spool for a second or so then loses it again, I'll check all suggested though :)

well in that case i'd agree with the N75 suggestion. its possible the vac hose from the solenoid to the actuator has split
-
if it was a split hose would that mean the boost wouldnt come back? it seems to be boosting fine since last night, when I go in tonight I'll give it a blast down a straight and see what happens. Should be an acceptable excuse for the old bill if they catch me :lipsrsealed:

a split actuator hose means the wastegate won't open when it should so it'd boost like crazy for a few seconds.. the boost dropping off is due to the ecu seeing overboost and yanking the plug.
