Title: gearbox stuffed.

Well had a bad day yesterday, ill not bore you with the non car related.
Gearbox has went stuffed, driving fine then went to put into first and it wasn't for going then gear stick jammed tight in what was 1st gear but had not engaged into 1st, got my mechanic to pick up car after many attempts to free gear stick. Has had gear selector off and its fine, so assuming my gearbox has seized inside some how.

Would still be able to select gears when engine was off if it was clutch aye?

when my clutch on my mk3 went it was stuck in first, couldnt get it out

But my car is in neutral, its not stuck in gear, just when the selector is on the gearstick will not move into gears and jam.
