Title: Blue tape to protect paint when on motor way by 3M!
Post by: H Singh on 15 March 2012, 08:12: Hi guys,

going to some shows ive seen some cars witha blue tape on the front bumpers to protect them from having any stone chippings whilst going to and from. does anyone know what they are called or where i can buy some from? ive recently just got a respray so want to protect it from chippings! i know 3M do them but just cant seem to find them!

NERF 69 - thats the stuff that stays on all the time so not that one you can remove just for journeys to and from shows

GunnerCP - this could be the right stuff, dont forget the engine gets hot so dont want it to stick on what temp can this go to?

Post by: NERF 69 on 15 March 2012, 10:00: If is your show car is it not worth spending that extra cash then its done you don't have to worry about the next shows you go to. I've seen this stuff in action and it amazing. Don't quote me on it but im sure its the same stuff they use on ferrari's

a Vw is a Vw i appreciate any good car lets see it im not mk specific like alot of folk. In my personal opinion the old ones are the best. Have you got a link to a thread with it on?

i haven't been to any for a couple of years now but im hoping to get to a few this summer. Are you taking it down to any this year?

I've just got rid of my mk3 gti which is quite getting but it was a 3 door slammed to the floor and we've got a new addition of the family on his way and it wasn't really practicle enough so i bought a bora tdi that's standard so i can start making it how i want it. I haven't looked what's on this year yet not got round to it but our lass is due with the little one at the end of April so its gonna be as and when but i do wanna make atleast one. Pm me when and where your going

im in chesterfield near sheffield. Only had two mk3s and this bora. I was offered a mk1 a few months ago but i turned it down. Thinking i should have had it now he wanted £500 for it and all it needed was a respray but would have still had to get rid they're even less practical than a mk3
