As above, interested to know if anyone has used this & ur thoughts about it. Headlights are looking a bit tatty & thought about using this or the meguires kit. From what av been reading the 3M kit will do a better job, it looks easy enough, scared I might fryer tuck it when it comes to the sanding part tho
Any thoughts

doing something like this is always a scary job
if you do it then less is more... you can always do more but you cannot undo something if you burn through etc
be very careful of the edge of the pads on the paintwork.. when you are trying to get to the edges, that is where you can cause some really sickening damage... if you can remove the headlight easily and work on it in a vice or something then i would

so if i am careful & only apply very light pressure when sanding & move it about alot to avoid burning etc ( & use plenty of water ) then you think i will be OK?
the car is a MK5 08 plate, am actually surprised how tatty they look considering its not a very old car
the megs kit would be easier but feel it could be a waste of money & wont do the job half as good as the 3M
i will make sure i tape everything up around the edges, think the 3m kit is supplied with the tape so that would also be a bonus

do you have a dual action or a rotary polisher?
if so you could just buy some 1500, 2000 and 3000 wet and dry and sand them and then polish back up
age of the vehicle doesn't really matter... its the mileage

I've even used 800,1200 on the deep scratches before. Then finished up to 2000-2500-3000
All wet sanded and mopped with a da and some 3M cutting compound. Just make sure the plastic stays cool.
Scarey but pulled it off

dont have a DA or rotary  was going to use a drill with the kit
thought about buying things seperately but i can get the 3M for £20 so i thought that was a pretty good deal
need to bite the bullet & give it a try, i will be exra careful & hope for the best
Thank you Guy & Mr Blue
