Title: battery removal problem

battery needs to be changed tried undoing the bolt on the side of the battery holding the clamp on, and it is turning and not undoing.
need some help on how to to get this bolt out please

Could you get a set of grips/pliers on the one of the ends to stop it spinning and then replace it when you get it out? I can't picture it in my head TBH so sorry if that isn't possible  :smiley:

i dont think there is a nut the other end i think it is threaded through the battery box and assuming the battery box bolts are underneath the battery. :sad:

yes mate your right ive had mine out today the bolt you have spinning is in the plastic, then 4 10mm under the battery to hold the tray in place, is there a vw breakers anywhere near you , so you can snap it off and replace the bit of plastic , cant be expensive from a scrappers.

had to use a crow bar to pry the clamp off late last nite, very gently without damaging anything, the bolt goes into platic (pathetic) design

so will try and modify as dont want this problem again.
will update to the mod when done.
