Title: Do I need to re-remap?!
Post by: Synchronize on 13 March 2012, 13:23
Hi All,

Might be a stupid question but...

I had an R-Tech stage 1 remap last year (Mk5 GTi K03), thing is I've got an ITG Maxogen intake on the way. Will I need to have the car remapped to adjust for the extra airflow etc or will the ECU just adjust itself?

Thanks in advance

The ECU will adjust itself to a certain degree.

It's only when you start going de-cat/big downpipes, intercoolers that you would get it mapped again to take advantage of it.

Hi Bud,

Thanks for the reply.

Should I be concerned about any fault codes appearing? Will the ECU adjust all parameters based on the amount of fresh air?  :embarassed:

It shouldn't throw any fault codes but I'm afraid I don't know much about the Mk5's.

The ECU will see more air coming in so presumably throw in more fuel to match it.
