Probably a frequently asked question but can i put the turbo from a 1.8t on my diesel? If not has anyone upgraded their turbo and what have you used?

Its not :laugh: :laugh: And why would you put an inferior turbo on your car :grin: :grin:
Places like Turbo Technics, Turbo Dynamics etc etc will refurb your existing unit or offer you a new one off the shelf. You'll obviously need it mapped to suit too :wink:

What engine is it? Can't remember if the 110 unit does but certainly the PD units have variable vane turbo's which the petrol GTI doesn't so it won't work for starters (or at least it will take a huge amount to get it working) :smiley:

Its pre pd but not sure egich one I'll find out. Where does it tell you?

is yours the silver bora in the pic? if its not a pd youll either have a 110 or 90hp version. you could plonk a pd130 turbo on and get instant 20hp. youll need all the associated boost pipes and turbo air inlet pipe too. if your going to remap it get some .216 injector nozzles and decat on it too

any idea what hp and torque i would end up with with those mods?

dont know really. i now the average remap gives 135ish hp. so i rekon plus the 130 turbo, injector nozzles and decat probly about 150ish. also check this thread put for a few extra ideas. oh while ur at it plonk in a turborevs smic

Thanks for your replies but i think a decat and a remap is all im gonna do. Hardly worth doing anything else to a 110. Ill do them for abit of fun for now then buy a 150 then do what i want to do to that

The 90AGR uses a KO3 (can upgrade it to the KO4 thingy ma bobby or whatever those petrol boys do)
The 100/110/115 all use a VNT15
The 130/150 use a VNT17
