Hi thinking about getting a remap soonish :undecided: :lipsrsealed:
and read alot about the turbo intake pipes. Is it worth replacing?
Also how much is a fair price to pay for one?
found this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK4-1-8T-20V-SILICONE-TURBO-INTAKE-PIPE-AUM-AUQ-/160737623963?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item256cb57f9b#ht_1890wt_1037
had a sneaky idea, going to new york next week could i get one over there cheaper? lol
-
i would like to know this too will i really need new pipes
-
isnt it like around 10-20bhp?
-
Forge say 6bhp xtra but mines all good. Wouldnt go back anyway turbo niose louder too.
-
didnt think it would make that much difference lol
worth the £70-80 then?
-
how can the pipe add bhp ??
is it just the one pipe needed??
sorry new to vw 18t's
-
Less restrictive .....
-
are these a easy fit??
i take it this is the pipe from the intercooler to the (tb)
-
it doesnt add bhp as such.. if remapping the car a silicone tip is stronger and will not collapse under the extra presure as opposed to the flimsy standard one it is worth getting one before map and the one you have linked to is good there are a lot of ppl using them including myself its summat along them lines anyway  and it goes from your maf to your turbo mate thats why its called a tip... turbo intake pipe  if you want a pipe from your smic to tb you want a boost kit as well as the tip

with the aum the oem metal tip is thinner where it enters the turbo as there is a solid coolant pipe that runs along right next to it which cant be moved as its attached to the coolant flange and is also bolted to the block, so if fitting a silicone tip it gets squashed against this pipe and isnt any bigger than the oem metal piece. When fitting a silicone tip to my remapped aum I noticed zero difference
-
mate im only saying what others and r-tech recomended to myself i on the other hand have an agu :smug:
-
I want the pipes to but in red. Think im blind cant find them.
-

whats the 112??? i got rid of the 249 but i still got one solinoid still in place (with the vaccuums connected)

i just removed all the stuff under that bracket fitted 2 resistors

Im gonna have another fiddle down there!!!
Also I thought I had the wrong tip for my motor but it appears that the creation Motorsport tip has the hockey puck and DV around the other way to standard/forge tips am I correct in thinkin this
