Right, so i got the wheels fitted onto my car. Heres a little pic

As you can see it need to be lowered! Also the tyre sizes are very low profile, 215/35/18 on 8.5j wide.
I'd like to run stretch only on the rears. The et is 35 but it looks like if i dont run stretch on the front they'll be alot of poke and scrubbing!
What tyre sizes do everyone reccommend? I dont want to go to low as i've had bad experiences before so will a higher profile tyre also help me out?
Cheers

how low you going then you can determin tyre size
-
225/40/18's ftw they will keep the gearing / speedo spot on.
-
Actually 215/40/18s will read better than 225/40/18's
-
How can there be a lot of poke on an 8.5j rim with a 35et? Unless you have 15mm spacers it doesn't make sense.
-
I'll take a picture from side view later.
So would the rears be ok on 215/35/18 and the fronts 225/40/18? And would that look alright?
I wanna go quite low but not scrapin the floor low!

I would not run wider tyres on the front. :undecided:

I swear i've seen loads of people do that?! been having a look today and im gunna go for 215/45/18 all round.

45 is big im on 40 profile and they rub like a beesh
-
Yeah but with the stretch it wont be as bulky. Theres a guy on UKMK4's and thats what hes running, hes not gone to low because the profiles big, looks spot on, ill get the pic!

^^They are not 45's :undecided: look like 40's to me, 45's will rub in anycase.
-
ah i see, ive kurbed the wheels a few times already. Really hating the stretch on the front. Is running stretch only on the rears ok? Something like 215/40 on the rear and 225/40 on the front? Ta
-
yes i think that will be fine mate quite a few ppl doing that ask jonnyturbo i think he is running that setup
-
Yep I just run stretch on rear and its spot on
-
But don't you run a larger tyre on the rear though? Not a larger tyre on the front and smaller stretched tyre on the rear
-
Yep Steve . I run a 215/40/18 up front then 225/40/18 on rear . Approx 40mm stretch on rear
-
knew it was summat like that just other way round
-
Same as what I run
-
i got 225 40 18 all round on 8' rim and back rubs bad as coils are all the way down maybe 215 35 18 be better wa do you think chaps
-
ive jus fitted 225/35/19 on my car, no rubbing at all but i aint lowered the car...yet
-
the wheel size in question is 18' so doesnt really do the op any favours
