Wish I had taken a photo of my mk4 when I went prept, it was the filthiest thing ever, ask S-L-I-X on here. Lets just say it looked like I had been offroading followed by driving through a hay barn with all the grass and mud I had on.

A lot of the guys saw the funny side, I was disappointed as they never put me into the show and shine competition. Few funny jokes that night too, like a few lads came out with "see this guy is normal as he works, us working people don't have time to clean our cars" right next too someone washing a tiny spec of there mk4 due to a cleaning OCD.

It depends, it needs the right level of dirt. Generally I prefer my cars clean but sometimes, when they get covered in "road dust" (dry dirt not wet like Chuffs), I think they look awesome... it's just the right amount of dirt to make them look as if they have completed some epic journey.

I agree with the above...the road dust 'used' look with a coating of brake dust on the front wheels...so it looks driven..

Love it clean, but love dirt and dust on the wheels and lower panels :O

Pi55ed off that i spent an afternoon cleaning mine in the week then the missus takes it horse riding while i sort the brakes on her 206 and it comes back covered in sh*t....
Title: Re: Clean or dirty?
Post by: Khare on 17 March 2012, 11:42
Depends on what kind of dirty. Spots of mud everywhere and general dust cover no thanks. Blackened wheels by brake dust, mud streaks down the bottom half of the car and dirt around the rear screen, meh, rally-ish look.

Clean much better though. Cleaned mine for the first time in months yesterday and it's like owning a new car

Is it wrong that I get jealous of people with really really dirty cars i.e the ones about to be pulled any min and asked to clean their plate off?

Better to have it clean. And better if the wirings of your car in the machine will be properly organize for easy cleaning. And by the way, this is my own opinion
