Title: Looking it to buying mk5 gti but hpi says dvla not recognised

Could anyone help I've done a hpi check on this car vk06 pjv and it's not recognised by dvla ,it did have a private plate on it but can anyone check for me or know how to check it,cheers in advance

It's also comes up as insured...

If you are concerned, it might be worth your while contacting the DVLA, it could simply be a mistake.

Thanks for your help,I did the check on dvla hpi phone number 83600 and when I rang my insurance it came back not recognised at first but they tried on another system and it was ok ,just putting me off now

Having 2 things not recognising car,I will ring dvla tomm what you think or you recon be fine.

How long ago did they do the reg transfer as if its in the process sometimes takes a while to all swap over.Ive just done my own cars as in swapped the reg over and its only just showing up what the car is.

^ as above.  it takes a while for the systems to all show up the right info.  This mean you are shifting the mk4?

Thanks for replys I've not had that car now I've found another which had 18in alloys and is mint so glad I didn't ,but thanks for helping. :smiley:

carl, dont know if you have ever read or know about them but this would have shown up any issues from the off regarding the registration, and mileage

^^^^^ Forgot about that.  Very handy.  The only down side is that you need the V5 or MOT Cert number which many people browsing for cars won't have to hand.

just ask the seller to give u it before viewing :smiley:

true, and I have been refused the MOT test number on many occasions, in which case, I just continue looking.  :wink:
