Title: Overbore and brakes questions
Post by: mowgli on 26 May 2005, 13:36
Just a couple of Q's, has anybody done or heard of a 2.1 overbore on the 8v engine in the MK3?  Secondly, are the brakes on the 16v/VR6 bigger than those on the 8v??

I'm sure you can see where this is leading, its just a thought at the minute.

Thanks in advance

probably something silly like they uprate the 8v brakes and added ABS to some in the same year

My '96 8v has ABS. According to the specification/history section of Parkers Car Price Guide, all GTi's had ABS as standard from October '94 onward, together with drivers airbag & immobilizer.

Although, the trader I bought my GTi from said it didn't have an immobilizer :undecided:.
