Title: starter motor problem
Post by: (shakey) on 09 March 2012, 18:38
this has happened twice to me now.

the stater motor has stuck and wont turn at all,the car will only start if you bump start it.

after that the motor is fine until it happens again is it worth dismanteling it and cleaning it all up or just get a new one?

Carparts4less which is owned by Euro car parts but appears to be cheaper even with forum discount!

Even has the same part numbers http://www.eurocarparts.com/starter-motor

Wont fix a burnt spot though - a local car electrical specialist may be able to do it cheaper than buying a recon one  :undecided:

Seems obvious but have you checked the wiring too? Mine was playing up and luckily it turned out to there been a poor connection to the starter.

You need to do a drop test on the battery and then get it running and see if you are getting around 14v at the battery with a multimeter

As said it could be a loose connection
