Title: Mk4 1.8T AUM stage 1 remap question
Post by: AntMk3GTi on 09 March 2012, 16:15
Hi

I've recently got a MK4 1.8t 150bhp with the AUM engine. Am I right in saying this has the K03s turbo and a stage 1 remap will see 200bhp?

If so, will it be ok to run the standard clutch set up with 200bhp? Ive got a receipt for a new clutch fitted less than a year ago so it'd be a shame to ruin it so soon if it cant handle the extra power.

Also, I'm planning on upgrading to a fmcl007p diverter valve. Is this a direct replacement, so exactly the same size as the stock one etc?

Thanks

I second what barrym381 says. I have a 2001 Aum, and just before I had it remapped the gear box went, so I had it replaced as well as the clutch and fly wheel (oem parts). Touch wood, my clutch has been fine since the remap, which was done about 22 months ago. What you are most likely to need to replace after a remap will be the pcv pipework under the inlet, and the diverter valve.

Be ok mine runs 231bhp and 250torque my clutch is fine (touch wood) still original on from new, and drive mine hard too.
