well origanally i was told the door had dropped on both passenger sides so they didnt open. but its stumped me after getting in through the boot (no remote and drivers lock not working) i realised if u pull either of the handles to the doors on the inside of the car the lock goes up put retracts when u release handle. and the in car unlock button only unlocks the drivers side and boot any ideas?
-
its asif the car is deadlocked on passenger side would disconnecting the battery reset it?
-
Sounds like you might have solenoid failure on both N/S doors??
A good mechanic or locksmith should have a lockout kit to use on the rods to open the doors.
-
but why would it retract the lock pins when the hand from inside is released
-
If the solenoids are shot they might be constantly pulling the lock pins down. When you pull the inner handle your fighting against them, then when you release they pull back down again.
I might be a camels ride away with my theory, but I've worked on plenty of vehicles in the past with this issue. (not golfs though)

I agree with bunj, sounds logical.

hmm worst thing is now my drivers door has decided it wont lock or unlock with central locking :/
-
just as a temporary fix get the door open, remove the doorcard and unplug the central locking. itll mean having to unloch via the doors but in my eyes a better bet than goin via the boot!
-
the locks are broke i think as car wont lock or unlock either side with key
-
remove the fuse for the central locking, then try the key, rules out the solenoid acting against you
-
this just sounds like every fiesta i have ever owned

i done it in end stripped door down snapped the lock as it wasnt turning put in a screwdriver and it unlocked and opened change the solenoid and the locks and it should be sorted :)
