Title: Funny 1st starting idle revs
Post by: DMcK on 09 March 2012, 11:00
When I 1st start up my car when I have not used it the idle sits at about 1200 revs. It eventually drops after about 5 minutes to normal revs at idle. Does this always happen or is it a problem? I was told it could be an internal choke. I have an AGU Engine.

or idle controll valve related.

Seems quite common. Well hope it's just normal. Must be because the weather. When it warms up might notice a change. Can't see why would be MAF? But then again I don't know much  lol

Isn't it the secondary air pump which makes a horrible noise on cold start (like a diesel) then goes off after a couple of minutes? I'm sure there is a How-to with a DIY fix.

Nothing to worry about.

Yep try this (I take it you have an AUM / AUQ?)

Repairing the Secondary Air Pump (Noise on start up)

1200 sound good, sometimes mine will jump to 2000 when it really cold outside and i have to use the clutch to bring it down
