to anyone who can help. just bought a 110bhp tdi engine code AHF. it lags in first gear really badly when i put my foot down. and i can notice it in other gears also under allelleration where it just doesnt seem to have any ummphh. the guy i bought it off told me it could be the turbo veins??? apparently thats what he was told.
i thought maybe the MAF sensor?
anyone have any ideas of reasons behind it? im going to clean the sensor up tomorrow. could it be the egr? i have had a look on the intake pipe also and where there is another smaller pipe that feeds into it there seems to be a big build up of oil. and theres no way it could have dripped from anywhere else. it looks like it has come from that pipe.??? again any ideaS????
thank

no one got any advice??? at all....?

Scanned the car for codes? Do some logs of the maf, boost pressure, n75 valve.
Does the pipe which is full of oil come from the rocker cover?
-
im getting it scanned again tomorrow,i have been reading up about the turbo sooting up, i think i will have ago at stripping it down and cleaning it, cant do any harm anyway even it turns out not to be the cause. and ye i think that pipe does run from the cover if i remember rightly.
thanks

What was the outcome on this?

Does it smoke atall? if you are able to hear the turbo boosting up but its doesnt really go, it could be a boost leak. how does it start as well, does it start on the key or does it take a while to fire? could be the fuel pump timing is out

didnt find much out in the end, sadly, well for the tdi owners anyway.... i have returned to the side of the GTI again.
sorry to dissapoint!!!

pretty sure it was just the maf sensor though, i changed it for a different one and for the couple hours i had it it was perfect haha then it got sold...
