Just bought some LM's and the guy on eBay had them on a mk4. I asked him what the offset was and he said 5x100. So now we know the pcd! Obviously I took his word, went up in the dark and collected the wheels. Went to fit them tonight, realised the pcd is 5x112. Where do I stand now?! He said he'll pay towards adaptors but that's really not the point. I'm 400 pound down with alloys that don't fit my car!

If you cannot live with adaptors, then file a claim misadvertising! if you paid via paypal? But if you picked them up why didn't you just pay cash when you saw them? :lipsrsealed:
-
Item not as described. eBay rules says you give them back and he refunds the money.
Tell him straight mate, you want your money back!

I never said I paid by PayPal. I paid cash on collection. But it was dark, didn't look at the back of the wheels. His mk4 was on the drive so I didn't even think about them not fitting! He just said he'd take them back. But I really wanted them!

just get adapters
-
19s?

So what you want the adaptors for free then?
-
Sold as seen.. Woops
-
They're 18's. Yeah he had them on with adaptors but he got the garage to his wheels. So obviously the garage have the adaptors. Hopefully! I would buy adaptors but I shouldn't have to.
-
well your only options are
1 give them back
2 buy adaptors.
if hes said he will give you some money towards adaptors and you want them then just take him up on his good will gesture.

I understand what you mean. But ive been looking forward to getting LM's for ages, like a little kid at christmas. H'es adamant that the wheels are 5x100, he's even contacted the previous owner of the car who said they're 5x100 to. But they're printed 5x112 on the back. I hope im being really stupid. But ive fitted so many wheels in the past i just can see it!
He said he didnt have adaptors on his car, so how could they fit? Reckon he could of changed the hubs? Seems a bit pointless though tbh.
I think ill take him up on his offer, anyone know some majorly cheap adaptors?

im no expert, only have my winter alloys and summer alloys, but on both of them ive never seen the PCD written on it anywere, could just be something else, highly doubt it but never know. as for adapters best place is ebay that ive seen
-
pcd is on the back of the wheels along with ET and such. i would say my cars wrong, but i have montreals on it, and furthermore the lm's dont say 5x100. ah dear, back to the drawing board!
-
There are some 5x100 to 5x112 adaptors over in the ukmkivs classifieds...well there was last time I checked.

Hurry hurry. That is a good price for adaptors aswell!
-
im not a member! how much are they? also, the ET is 35. What would be the best size adaptor for a flush/slight poke? Ta!
-
f**king sign up now!
£80 picked up for all 4 adaptors, and the guy is throwing in 2x5mm spacers. He has lost one bolt however. I'm pretty sure adaptors just come in a standard size, so you will have to have a play with spacers etc.
If you buy these I want commission for finding them
-
Lol ill sign up and have a little look. They come in all sizes, 15's up to like 45's lol. Ah, could be a pain sourcing a bolt mind you! Commison, pshh. Ill send you a free sample of Meg's ultimate wax from work ;)

cant register, every username i use it says it already exists. and ive used some ridiculous ones, one being imalonghairdtwit

They don't look that big, maybe 20mm tops. A bolt will be easy to source I'd imagine, just buy another set of 4 then you have some spare...Make up a crazy username !!
I'll accept that sample with open arms

The problem is that et35 is not going to leave you a lot of room for an adaptor.
-
thats true. He's said that the garage who changed the wheels for him didnt remove any adaptors. His new wheels are 5x100 and they were a like for like swap. So, the back of the wheels say 5x112. But hes sure they were fitted to his MK4 with no adaptors. Hes even contacted the previous owner who fitted the LM's and he said they were 5x100. Is there any other explanations?!
-
Have you actually tried them on the car?

+1...
-
yeah lol of course!
-
Well they could be stamped wrong.
-
i agree but i couldnt for the life of me match up the bolt holes on my hub. i was so confused at first!
-
he's either so stupid that he can't tell the difference between a mk5 and a mk4 or for some reason he's lying!
-
Did he have a picture of the car with the wheels on when advertised. sounds like he s playing you
-
Right, the wheels are stamped 5x112. But they did fit, so weird.
When i put them on in the dark they werent centred on the hub as the centre bore is 75, golf being 57. So i found some spigot rings lying around and centred the wheel. Fitted no probs!
They could be going up for sale though as ive found some very good quality reps brand new for cheap!
-

-
lets just hope the sellers not on here as it would be highly embarrasing. Told him i sold the wheels on as im to stubborn to tell him the truth!
