Evening all, problem developed with the golf yesterday, 2001 GT TDI 115.
Losing all its coolant in the space of about 10 miles? No gunk in header tank and oil looks nice and clean? Really stumped now and can't afford any major work.

is there no signs of leaks ? what about white smoke from the exhaust ?
-
Not that I've noticed, trying to get hold of a mate to look at it for me tonight.
-
Surely a split pipe somewhere? Clip come loose on the side of the engine?
-
I'm hoping that's the case but I can't see any water hitting the ground under the car.

It's cause there is no more to come out...
Where you driving at the time, or just nip out to check the coolant level and see it was all gone?

Was sat in traffic yesterday and coolant warning went off, checked and level seemed a little low, not very though to be honest. Topped up and then next time I drove the car the warning was almost immediate and there was sod all in there.
I'm hoping against hope its the expansion bottle cap.

Right just been to my old workplace and put it over a pit. Lower rad hose had been rubbing on something and had a hole in. Did a temp repair until I can get a new hose, seems ok. Fingers crossed.
