Title: Fitting 312mm disks - All sorted
Post by: scarr89 on 07 March 2012, 12:57
Just sheared while undoing this screw but on the other side...

What does it do? Is it important?

Also how do you remove the disk? Do you have to remove the big main hub nut?

Cheers

its just the brake disk locating screw so it holds it all together when you're refitting the wheel etc, its not essential and they usually corrode to the point of drilling them out. Mine was the same.

to remove the disk you need to remove or drill that screw head off thentake the caliper/carrier off and the disk will then come off.

Looking back at the job the worst bit was painting the carriers to match! I was in a rush due to the weather and me going out tonight that I think I scuffed the carriers putting it all back together (as they hadn't fully dried)...Will have to give em a fresh lick of Hammerite another time!

Garage on Friday to get em all bleed and workings super slick
