I am thinking about doing something a little different and going for some orange boost hoses from sfs for the arz what do people think will be a jafa cake in my mind but I am childish like that

HEHEHE i was sat at work looking on the sfs eating jafa cakes and the idea came to be indeigo blue on the outside and orange on the inside :tongue:

do it i have a black and green theme im going for my golf is black and i love how it stands out, only thing is hoses in green are £195 a set ouch, just sprayed my engine covers will post pics when fitted but im nearly 40 years old and love the bright engine bay. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

got some more to go on yet but i got them off ebay, ive got a little green stig to go on, just like a golf in green, and a blow me with a pic of a turbo, bit tacky but hey im re-living my youth pmsl. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

Unfortunately everything will be going on hold for awhile while I sort out the rocker cover gasket injector seals and sort a new dv cough forge cough aswell as a boost leak and that will mean the jafa cake car will begin I love all these ecsues keeps the gf off me back

just need different radiater pipes then iam going to a company that makes alloy parts and going to have power steering, coolant and washer bottle alloy parts made up

can it get much worse than that, then again i bought a little nova for wife many years ago and whole engine bay plus engine was covered in oil, my wife took one look at it and said thats well f*cked her words exactly im not having that so she went and sat in the car as it had other problems aswell all minor, so me being me i haggled with the seller and bought for £500 went back to our car and said follow me home ive just bought the nova to her horror she said please say you havent afraid so, on way home i popped into a car spares shop and bought a can of foam gunk and a rocker cover gasket changed gasket went down to jet wash and jet washed engine, rocker cover was leaking for so long whole engine bay had oil on it but the oil protected car from rust and paintwork in engine bay was mint, when i returned home with nova wife could not believe the difference and loved it, i mopped the car as it was white had calibra wheels in my shed which i put on and wife had car for 4 years and never broke down on her, we sold it for £500 it was a lovely little car and for a 1.2 it well shifted. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:
moral of story having oil on outside of car can sometimes be a good thing if you know what your looking at, i knew if whole engine covered in oil must be comming from top so easy peesy rocker cover gasket what does wife know. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

yes indeed but no good when you need to work on it and end up covered in oil up to your elbows, one of the first things i do when get a new car is clean engine well i look for leaks first, i always like to buy a car with dirty engine (not oily) so you can see leaks then i clean it up and then you can see when problems arise, had a sierra xr4i once many many years ago you could have eat your dinner off the engine it was that clean. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:
