Title: oil light on after catch can install (UPDATE NOW FIXED)

after fitting catch can today will get pics up later my oil light has decided to come on and beep and stuff anyone else had this issue all fitted correctly well i think it is  :grin: apart from the light checked oil level etc any ideas what is wrong cheers guys  :smiley:

haha already been done mate thats what i first thought could it still be tho  :undecided: i get it done on every service 4k for piece of mind

what sensor rich it was fine this morning only since fitting catch can this afternoon its come on

Oil pressure sensor on the oil filter housing  :undecided:

no joy and got dark checked oil level again and still coming on fecking car cant really see whats gone wrong took off old put on new and car as thrown a wobbly  :laugh: will have a look or take to my mate tomorrow

Remove and re connect the oil sensor plug?? I dunno that's the best I can think of!!!!

where is the oil sensor plug as there seems to be loads of sensors round that area  :undecided:  :smiley:

remove the catch can, put back to standard . sorted . :wink: you must of fitted it wrong .  :nerd: If it was fine before fitting something thats your problem.  :laugh:

That is the level sensor, oil pressure sender is on the filter housing, check around the filter housing and see if you have knocked a plug off.

was thinking of it but hacked the old system up as it was falling apart with corrosion thats why catch can was installed  :grin:

+1, or damaged the wiring, failing that there must be something wrong with the install, or a massive co-incidence.

In my experience, it will be something daft  :grin:

My vote is on coincidence. After i fitted my catch can i took my car for a drive and had a misfire and engine management light flashing at me. Turns out 2 of my coilpacks had blown. Was onviously nothing to do with what i had done

light is red guys and was careful with the install been putting it off for a year till i was 100% sure that i knew what i was doing as didnt want to get it wrong  :laugh: is it possible that the sh!t as fallen back down and blocked pickup pipe  :undecided: cheers guys

just found this wire not connected to anything cant see where it goes could someone have a look on their agu for me pic below cheers guys

I HAVE NOW FIXED THE OIL LIGHT PROBLEM seems a had pulled a wire off the oil pressure sensor on the filter housing and on attempting to reconnect it the wire was to short  :evil: but a brain wave later and all is sorted until the next chapter thank you all for your help  :smiley:
