Love the colour and the wheels look good.

He's been trying to sell that for months on ED38...
Does nothing for me... :lipsrsealed:
-
Me neither, original/standard is the only way forward for me
-
I like that. Some nice little touches.
-
How much is it up for now?
-
Been for sale ages, not keen on it myself.
-
IIRC for the asking price I'd at least expect door speakers...etc etc.
-
Yeah Noticed that before... all that hard work doing the engine bay and the guy has put on minging door cards & the rear seat dont match....
-
its up for 16k !!! think what u could do with 16k to make your standard gti look the best it possibly can.
-
for 16k i could have an awesome rallye and still change for a everyday car lol or spend 16k and get a s3
-
This was posted on here what.... last summer?.... 16k = trying to get back the money spent... Never.

Always seems a shame to see these sorts of things for sale. Someone has obviously spent a lot of time and money on it (LOTS of money), and now its (nearly) finished, they try and sell it.
Hopefully there are plenty of tidy projects that people do keep.
Of course, they cant be desperate to get rid, if its beed advertised for so long at the same price

Also can't be serious if he thinks he's going to sell it for that price either.
-
£16K?! WTF?!
-
Why not aim high after spending a fortune? Still better than all that 'only want back what they cost me' crap that goes on with a lot of classifieds

How much to you think this guy put into it though?
Shall we start a "What's it worth thread" for it. :lipsrsealed:

A fortune, the build quality looks amazing but it's very much one persons vision of a mental spec mk2 - it's perhaps not very wider market friendly :)

Here is the rest of the ad:
An unexpexted opportunity to own one of the nicest and rarest Mk2 Golfs in Europe and have it featured in the magazines as your car.
All the work on this vehicle has been completed by top VAG specialists PSI Tuning and costs thousands to complete.
This is NOT a regular MK2 shell with a 4wd floor pan and tunnel welded in but is a very rare G60 Syncro model that came with the same modifications as the more common Rallyes but in a standard looking 3 door bodyshell.
Vw do not know how many of these were made but it is estimated that there may have been as few as 120 made and there are only six that I know of in this country with only one other converted to rhd.
The G60 Syncro shell is much stronger than the normal Gti shell having 600 extra spot welds, reinforced suspension turrets and chassis legs, and a bonded windscreen.
This car was retrieved from a lock up in Yorkshire after a previous owner had started its renovation but with many parts sold off by a previous owner he had not completed it.It had 120k kms on the clock.
I have traced its previous owner,a local fellow enthusiast, who bought it from a fastidious enthusiast who purchased it from its original German owner.
The car has undergone a total make over as you can see and no expense has been spared as this was meant to be a keeper but my daughter's impending wedding requires me to sell it.

There is a build thread for this car on the Edition38.com forum on the PSI Tuning section under 'MK2 live build thread'.You do not need to be a member to see this.It will provide you with lots of build up photos, particularly showing how clean this car is underneath.
A number of magazines have asked to feature this car but that is a privilege the new owner can have.
This is fundamentally a new Mk2 given all the work that has been done to it and will not need anything doing for a long time.
I have all the receipts that will let you know how much I have paid for everything.
There are more piccs as well but nothing special.

There is no question that the guy has thrown A LOT of money at this... I bet the re-spary alone cost him £5K.
But he will always struggle to get the asking price as it's only for a VERY limited market & to me it's the type of project you do cos "You" want it - selling it on is always going to be a problem & you'll never get back what you've spent!
But I would at least finish it 1st and then try and sell it....
Good luck to the guy.

I never understood why people paint car's in marmite colours.
Broke all the rules and its cost him a swift sale imho.
Rule 1 - Marmite mods. Smoothed everything
Rule 2 - Colour
There is a 3rd rule broken but thats my trade secret
Lots of quality gone into it and good luck to the guy as above

I can't believe people sell cars thinking they can get all monies back but on a rare occasion some plonker buys one thinking its a bargin? :undecided:

I have to agree... Even mine which is an OEM + spec car - I doubt I would get back all that I have put into her...
But seen as I have no plans to ever sell her I don't care!!
I've done it cos I wanted too....

Well if I had to buy a VR6 it would have been this one! Come on look at the detail on it???
Still don't like the design of them esp now that fuel is more expensive than a crack habit!
V5 was the solution but that failed becuase it was for insurance purposes rather than re-engineering a decent block
Guess 20vT took the title.
Nothing wrong with a bored out KR with some phat carbs and minimalistic touches!

that is very nice !!
