Just wondering if anyone knows or uses a particular password generator/store that can sit on your desktop?
Any help is appreciated as I dont usually go for any desktop apps/gadget etc
I should probably add that it will be used to securely store usernames/passwords/email address etc - all linked to the same account/password.
thx

Though I've never used the passwords feature of http://www.xmarks.com/ (http://www.xmarks.com/), I've heard that they do have one. You may want to have a look at that? For syncing bookmarks (it's main function), it's absolutely brilliant. My only advice is to be wary of most things that store passwords, it's quite a big security risk to store everything in one place...

Yes.. this is my thought also. However I now need to securely keep lots of account and passwords for account holders information. Although these are stored on our systems I will need regular access to these so somewhere secure on PC would be ideal solution.
will have a look at xmarks

Oh sorry about that. XMarks is more of a personal bookmark / password keeping app. Syncs it across all devices and browsers you use. Very good if you work on multiple laptops / workstations like myself. I completely missed your last point about account information :embarassed:
If you're thinking on a larger scale there's much better solutions. Just depends exactly what you want. Are you after an out-of-the-box kind of application or are you relatively technical? If the latter, check out: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1054022/best-way-to-store-password-in-database (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1054022/best-way-to-store-password-in-database) (some excellent answers there).

A client uses KeePass and seems to do well with it, just make sure you keep a backup of the database file it creates...
