Title: CAM BELT WHEN TO CHANGE

Hello.

Does any one know when then cam belt needs changing on a mk3 golf gti is there a service timed in for this. Mine has done 56k was just wondering if the 60k service the cam belt will need changing. I guess it depeends on the car mine has full service history but the cam haisent been changed up till know boring question but would like to know.  MANY THANKS.

The original interval on mk3s was 80,000 miles.  VW now recommend 60,000 miles.

I would have the belt and tensioner changed before too long, mainly for peace of mind.

as jte says. plus 60k is a big service aswell. Mine was £400 all in.
